Great Music Video

The music video I chose is Gabrielle Aplin- Salvation, I personally thinks this is a great music video due to the fact that not only the lyrics that tells the story but also the video does through the acting.
in this video the girl is technically asking for a salvation meaning wanna escape from all the harm or terrible heart breaks. they used a really good shots such a close up showing their emotional feelings for each other.
overall I think this song should be one of the influential video  for all the heard broken people or people that enjoys listening to slow sad music

The link bellow shows my horror film opening, after showing our classmates and teachers the two rough cuts, thy were feedback given to us, in which we took on board to make improvement.

Evaluation Question 5

The unique selling point of our film " White Eyed Possession" is becuase we used the hand held technique, the reason why we decided to do the hand held technique it mainly because in the past it was successful. I technically think people should see it because the hand led technique makes our horror film looks like a documentary. furthermore by including themes of contact lenses also will draw the audience`s attention and it will make them scared because se this isn`t what you will expect to see in any off the horror or thriller movie.

The film in which inspired us to use the hand held camera technique was the  "Blair Witch Project" this horror film was successfully rcognise because of the use of the had held camera and this is the type of film our tagert audience or any one can watch becuase it unique and everything looks real.

2. After producing our film we recorded a voice over comentary in which we Identified point in which we believe it appealing to our target audience and also in we gave our reason why it would be appeally to them and also compared it to other successful movie.

Evaluation Question3

The film "White Eyed Possession" is an low budget film within the British industry. in order for our film to be recognise the film need to be distributed  at a film festival such as the 'British Independent Film Festival this festival helps promote low budget films in order for the film to be know or reach the heights in Hollywoods 

with this been successful " White Eyed Possession" may become more mainstream and it could been shown at multiple cinemas such as ODEON , VUE , Cineworld this is where our film could get the chance to be seen by   a larger audiences  and also at independent cinema operators such as Picture-house 

After " White Eyed Possession" becomes successful, then we would release the film on DVDs and BlueRays to be available to anyone thats interesting to watch the film again with their families. people can easily access or buy the product in HMV, WHSmith etc, however this film also gives people the opportunity to watch it legally online on NetFlixs and love film and people can watch it internationally.

our production company "Galaxy production" would like the warner bros to distribute " White Eyed Possession" choosing this company to distribute our film is because they have been successful over the years, they`ve distributed horror films such as Friday the 13th, nightmare etc which I believe where successful, therefore letting Warner Bros distribute this film will help our film be recognise not only in Hollywoods but world wide.

This is Laura Ruis. shes 16 years old and lives in London, she like to dress in jumpers and jeans. she enjoys listerning to music and she`s mainly into indie pop  and pop music and hanging around with her mates

she shops in places like New Look, H&M, Topshop, River Island and Zara.
She enjoys films like Brown sugar, Honey, Step up 1,2,3 , The others, Final destination, Cabin in the woods, the conjoring, Hair spray ,August Rush, she mostly enjoys watching them at the cinema and buy them on DVD and watching them while she`s free with her friends and she love eating icecream and pop corns while watching the films.

she enjoys program such as Eastenders, American Next Top Model, Revenge, Teen Wolfs, Jessie, Good luck Charlie. The main channels she would be watching are BBC1, E4,Disney, Music4, Film4 etc.

She does not mind listing to anything in the charts varying from pop, indie, but she`s not really a rock or classical music mostly in her room she listens to Kiss FM and choice FM.

I think our film would definitely appeal to her because she looks like the type of person that doesn`t mind watching anything that looks interesting and catchy and she`s not also a stereotypical girl hat is afraid of horrors and tends to stick with romance, therefore  if this film was to show at her local cinema it may appeal to her as it is similar to other films she has watched and also buying the film in DVD wouldn`t be a problem for her.

Evaluation question 2

In our horror film we have ethnic diversity in our three characters as one is mix-race, Caucasian and the other is black as it was shown at the very start. this straightly  appeals to the wide audience without offending anyone by stereotyping their race. we used a teenage girl as our villain because it`s more likely for teenagers to be possesses and this conform with the stereotype of a villain being a older person.

The image above it a young girl being possesses as her eyes color changed, using a young girl as a main character it was to make the audience feel uncomfortable  and will make them wonder what will happen or will she do in the following scene 

Evaluation question1

1.  setting and location. After research the horror film conventions , it appears that most horror films are usually set in a dark abandoned house  or isolated house. However our horror film location is in a house and set in a bedroom where all the disaster happens. Looking at the first image you can see three girls having a conversation like a normal people the reason why we done that it because we want to keep the audience desperately wondering what will happen through out the film. The following image shows the character in the bathroom this may not be a popular location however we used because of the mirror reflection because mirror normally reflect our film in this case the audience will then starting to become more suspicion .
2. camerawork and editing: In our horror film we used a handheld camera , however in the third frame we used a close up mainly to focus on the eye to make the audience feel uncomfortable and scared .
3. costumes and props: It does not go against the conventions it conforms it instead. It is stereotypical that if a film is based around something demonic then the demonic things costume or probably has different color eyes such as: red, white or black and they are not soft colors but are harsh. 
4. Title: My film title sequence, ‘White Eyed Possession’, challenges the conventions of actual opening sequences. Our dialogue develops the use of technology within the horror genre. ‘Paranormal activity’ (Oren Peli 2009) and Scary movie (Keenen Ivory Wayans 2000). Both use simple props for the basis of their plots. ‘White Eyed Possession’ is a cross-over of these genres, and develops the use of technology by dialogue and sound throughout. The camera angles create tension which is able to draw the audience into the action.
5.  font and style. ‘White Eyed Possession’ does not conform but it challenges the conventions of a horror film as the title and font style throughout the introduction, it is more of a theme you would see in either a comedy or an action film such as Hangover one-three or Fast and furious one-seven, both use roughly the same style of font. ‘White Eyed Possession’ is a cross-over of both of these font types and however it helps develop the use of font and style within a horror film.
6. Genre and how opening suggests it: we combined our horror film opening using both sound non diegetic and diegetic sound. the diegetic sound was used at the start as the girls were having a conversation as most horror film will do, through out the opening non diegetic sounds played to help frighting and create more intense feel on the audience 

Evaluation question 7

For our Preliminary task that first camera shot we used was the low camera angle , looking at the shot we did didn't used it effectively toward the audience, however it was understandable because when we first did our first recording we didn't used all shots we were asked before, looking back at it.I believe we have progressed a lot as we now know what shot types to use and where to put them to have the correct effect on the audience the way we would have originally planned. 

after doing out preliminary task over again we thought clearly about the shot types. using the shot reverse shot we thought it would be an effective shot because it allows the audience to see the characters face and expression which it give the audience to feel like they are part of the film.

this shot is from our new horror film which my group and I decided to call "White eyed possession" . my group and I thought it would be better using the shot reverse shot but in a mirror reflecting way.

the close up shot we used , with thought it was the most effective shot because it was used at the end of the film before the title appears. using this with thought it shows clearly how she's possessed .

I mostly learnt new things during post production because technology now a days tempt to move so fast and they are always new things to discover. I literally discovered what a Mac computer can offer using final cuts to create a fancy tittle.  

I have never used blogger before, however using blogger it easy because am able to share  what I have learnt to my media fellow colleagues.The cool things using blogger is you get to choose your own font,colors and images.

Questionnaire using survey monkey in which allowed me to find out information about my chosen audience, in which i was able to produce a film opening that will cater to their horror expectation.

On the previous rough cut most of the students said they thought the directors name looked a little childish based on the animatic with picked and another peer said he liked the way it looked because it looked like a fluent transition between the two as it flowed nicely when starting the beginning of the Horror film introduction, without any interruption.

For this final cut my team and had to make sure our tittle was correct and suitable for the horror film. after doing this we decided to name our film "White Eyes Possession " because our film is based on a young girl being possessed. my doing this project I now know what to do to make your film look good and presentable for the audience.

BBFC

To be able to determine and decide our classification age for our horror film as a group and not an individual we went on to BBFC website and studied the classifications for films and what was included in each classification. we had to think about what the rest of our film would have been to then be able to judge the film classification. we thought very carefully and then determined that the age classification we though best fit our Horror film is age 15 and it includes all things that we had within our introduction and things that would have liked to include in the ret of the Horror film. It includes; strong language, violence,  brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence, discriminatory language or behavior and sexual nudity.

On Friday my group and I presented our rough cut 2 to our peers, Chantelle and Joyce both said that they liked the tittle that was used when stated to characters and the others and the way it was displayed. it was just anywhere you could see that it was well thought of and positioned to not be a distraction of what was going on in the actual film introduction.
They also said that they like the shaky camera parts that were included. it was only shaky when needed and wasn`t just shaky for the sake of it and the fact that it didn`t continued throughout the film.

An improvement is to change the lighting at the beginning when showing the director of the play a flowing into the introduction , however another peer (Luke )did say he liked the way we filmed and how it happened because it looked like one fluent transition when flowing into the beginning scene of the film introduction without interruption.

Rough cut feedback

Last week friday we presented out rough cut horror film opening to our class mates, feedbacks were given to us on what went well and even better if. want went well was people understood the story line even though we are planning to change the transition, they also enjoyed the contact lenses as it did show the different better than the possession, good used of camera angles and the acting looked natural

However some people said it would have been better if there were more variety of lighting and also even better if we used more camera angles.
